Founded in 1969 from the legacy of the Humanities Faculty of the University of Rennes, originally established in 1460, Université Rennes 2 welcomes over 20,000 students each year, including approximately 3,000 international students from around the globe. Renowned for its dynamism and creativity, the university is a vibrant cultural hub, continuously innovating through its academic programs, research initiatives, and partnerships with key institutions in the region.

Students at Université Rennes 2 can choose from a wide range of disciplines in the fields of arts, literature, languages, humanities, and social sciences, as well as sports. Programs are offered at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD levels.
The university offers:

- Robust research opportunities, conducted in collaboration with the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), in areas including:
