shaping ethical leadership and entrepreneurship for social impact worldwide
Cause(s): Human Services

Mission & Vision

The Fonds UNIAPAC is an international philanthropic foundation based in Paris that works to reshape the role of business in society. Rooted in charitable social thought, its mission is to support a new generation of leaders who place human dignity and the common good at the heart of their decisions.

Active in over 40 countries across Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia, the Foundation draws from a global network of more than 45,000 business leaders committed to rethinking the purpose of the economy. By guiding executives through leadership development, ethical training programs, and peer exchange, UNIAPAC seeks to inspire a more just and humane economic model.

Through training, dialogue, and research, the Foundation promotes the idea that entrepreneurship is a noble vocation—one that carries responsibility not only for profits, but for people, communities, and the planet.

Actions Led

The Fonds UNIAPAC strengthens leadership communities by helping business leaders develop themselves and transform their organizations to serve the common good. It supports and shares the work of national-level associations of business executives while advancing global conversations on ethics and economic justice.

Its main areas of action include:

  • Hosting international training and dialogue programs for business leaders on socially responsible leadership.
  • Supporting research and reflection on the future of work, especially in connection with global priorities such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Pope Francis’s Laudato Si’.
  • Facilitating the exchange of best practices that demonstrate business as a force for positive change.
  • Highlighting role models and stories of entrepreneurs who successfully integrate ethics, dignity, and sustainability into their companies through the Business as a Noble Vocation Awards.

By convening business leaders, academics, and civil society across continents, UNIAPAC fosters a global movement of changemakers committed to putting people first in the workplace and beyond.

Projects that U.S. Donors Can Support

With your support, the Fonds UNIAPAC is able to advance a range of global initiatives aimed at fostering socially responsible leadership and economic transformation. U.S.-based donors can contribute to:

  1. The Future of Work after Laudato si’: Collaborative international project articulating Laudato Si´, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and the Future of Work. This collaborative project aims at gathering business leaders, academic community and civil society to advance the global reflection and practices, with a focus on the relationship between the Laudato Si dimensions and the 8th goal of the UN 2030 Agenda.
  2. UNIAPAC Annual Think Tank Meeting: The aim of this meeting is to have a private and open debate between academics, prominent business leaders and special guests, to provide light and insights on the main socio-economic challenges of the XXI Century.
  3. Business as a Noble Vocation Awards: The main goal of this award is the identification of best business leaders’ practices, embodying “Business as a Noble Vocation”. This recognition identifies business leaders who have put in practice one or more of the three key elements that comprise the concept of Business as a Noble Vocation, and who can become role models to inspire others.
  4. Access to water for all in Africa with UNESCO: Access to water in Africa remains largely conditioned by the existence of local expertise to create new facilities and keep them in good working order, share them, and preserve their hygienic conditions. UNIAPAC and UNESCO will launch in early 2025 the training of the 4th Promotion of Hydrologist Technicians.
