Mission & Vision

The Réunion des musées nationaux – Grand Palais, now GrandPalaisRmn, aims to bring together technical, commercial, and artisanal expertise, utilizing art as a tool for human encounter.  Since its creation over 130 years ago, GrandPalaisRmn has developed numerous artistic and cultural education programs, manages several cultural venues, organizes exhibitions across diverse fields, and publishes books, images, and other unique cultural artifacts. Its mission is to promote interactions between individuals around art, from diverse cultures, periods, and forms. 

Actions Led

GrandPalaisRmn safeguards and contributes to the legacy of the Grand Palais, an emblematic institution in the heart of Paris, by curating its cultural programming, hosting private events, and overseeing the building’s preservation. A vibrant and multifaceted hub of cultural exchange, the Grand Palais embodies the values of GrandPalaisRmn and welcomes visitors from around the world each year.

GrandPalaisRmn also cultivates partnerships with a wide range of cultural players from France and around the world—including national museums (such as the Musée de Cluny), international institutions (like the Musée des Civilisations Noires in Dakar), tech-focused start-ups (such as Iconem), as well as municipalities and local authorities (including Saint-Dizier, Maubeuge, and Baretin). 

Ultimately, the institution strives to develop innovative new ways of accessing culture, notably by supporting a wide range of digital and immersive exhibitions, such as the Immersive Grand Palais, created in collaboration with other partners. This initiative, dedicated to the production and distribution of interactive exhibitions, fosters digital innovation through partnerships with museums, audiovisual producers, and tech-focused startups. GrandPalaisRmn also develops new digital tools accessible to all audiences, seamlessly integrated into the traditional exhibition model.

Projects That U.S. Donors Can Support

By donating to GrandPalaisRmn, you can support the: 

• Organization of exhibitions at the Grand Palais, the Grand Palais Ephémère, the Grand Palais Immersif, the Musée du Luxembourg, and the 15 other national museums of the GrandPalaisRmn network.
• Development of socio-educational programs to promote universal access to culture: actions dedicated to children, to sick and disabled people, and to people who are socially or geographically distant from culture.
• Enhancement and maintenance of the artistic and cultural heritage of the Grand Palais and the 15 national museums in the GrandPalaisRmn network, as well as the acquisition of works of art for the national collections.
