The Ecole du Domaine du Possible, a kindergarten through middle school, is a laboratory school, created by Françoise Nyssen, Jean-Paul Capitani and Patrick Bouchain in 2015, which aims to train students in the challenges of today and tomorrow.
In line with the findings established by the OECD, and the requirements of UNESCO, the Ecole du Domaine du Possible has developed a unique experimental educational model underpinned by inclusion, cooperation, development and balance of intelligences, multiple skills (artistic, manual, linguistic, psychosocial, etc.), the relationship with the environment as well as interdisciplinarity. This educational model, concerned with creating dialogue and articulating individual and collective trajectory, on the one hand, practical and theoretical learning, on the other hand, is based on a project and commitment approach, giving the student an active role in their academic, societal or (eco)citizen learning. The Ecole du Domaine du Possible rethinks the porosity of relationships between the school and the outside world, deploys a broader definition of the educational community and aims to empower each of its members (students, teachers, parents, associations and more largely any partner in the ecosystem).
U.S contributions will benefit the school’s research and development for this new education model, the social enrichment programs linked to the new education model and the school’s scholarship and inclusion program for the children of disadvantaged areas in and around Arles.
