Mission & Vision
Founded in 2005 in Saint-Louis, Senegal, La Liane is dedicated to providing a safe haven and comprehensive support for vulnerable children and women. Its mission is to protect and empower orphans, abused and exploited children, victims of sexual violence, and young expectant mothers, ensuring they have the opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. La Liane envisions a community where every individual, regardless of their past, can lead a fulfilling and autonomous life.
La Liane’s inception was driven by the urgent needs observed in Saint-Louis, where the prevalence of teenage pregnancies and the high number of orphaned and vulnerable children present significant challenges. In Senegal, teenage pregnancies remain a critical issue. This high rate is particularly concerning in Saint-Louis, where socio-economic factors exacerbate the vulnerability of young mothers and their children.
Recognizing these challenges, La Liane expanded its programs to include specialized services for pregnant women and comprehensive follow-up care for their babies once born. By providing prenatal and postnatal care, as well as creating economic opportunities for young mothers, La Liane aims to break the cycle of poverty and vulnerability.
