Fondation pour une Maternité sans Risque (Foundation for Safe Motherhood) is a donor-advised fund at Fondation de France. Its purpose is to support actions that reduce maternal mortality in Sub-Saharan Africa. Its mission is to reduce infant and maternal mortality within villages. It aims to reduce maternal mortality in the rural areas of Senegal by providing an adequate medical environment and improving basic health education.
Thanks to the McMillan Stewart Foundation advised gift, Fondation pour une Maternité sans Risque has established a mobile medical unit (a fully-equipped 4×4 vehicle with a driver and a staff of one midwife) and its operations (prenatal consultations and pregnancy follow-ups) within 20 villages in Tambacounda and Daouadi in Eastern Senegal. The foundation supports the health of women by detecting high-risk pregnancies, training midwives, teaching contraceptive methods, and promoting health education.
U.S. donations help finance mobile consultation units, maternity wards, and houses for moms. One immediate goal is to send more mobile medical teams to remote villages. Your support can help expand acess to care and ensure more mothers and babies receive the care they need.
