Mission and Vision
Founded in 1907 in Paris, ESSEC Business School is an institution of higher education guided by the pursuit of academic excellence in teaching and research. Its distinctiveness stems from the pioneering spirit of the members of its community and its core values – humanism, responsibility, innovation and openness – that shape its scientific ambitions and pedagogical approach.
The mission of ESSEC Business School, a global school with French roots, is to infuse leadership with meaning in order to prepare leaders to address contemporary economic, environmental and social challenges. With 8,500 students yearly, ESSEC ranks #1 in France for academic excellence and 7th in Europe among Business Schools (Financial Times, 2026).
Its “North America Hub”, an office based in New York, strengthens global mobility and academic partnerships through dual degrees with institutions like MIT, UCLA, and Yale for example. A dynamic 1,500 alumni network fuels its growing influence in the US.
