For the past 25 years, Friends of Fondation de France has been facilitating French-American generosity, nurturing meaningful relationships with over 180 nonprofits through more than 330 projects.
While we facilitate cross-border gifts, our work in French-American philanthropy extends beyond monetary transactions—it also symbolizes the shared values and ideas of both countries.
Today, as we celebrate our accomplishments for the past 25 years, we highlight Démos, a program that uses music as a catalyst for change.
The Démos program, led by Philharmonie de Paris, aims to accompany young musicians aged between 7 and 12 from underprivileged areas in which there are few artistic opportunities due to economic, social, and geographic barriers.
Since its creation, the program has transformed the lives of over 12,000 children across France, opening doors to artistic expression and cultural inclusion for those who might now have otherwise had the opportunity. Studies conducted with past participants show that the program has a deep impact on both self-esteem and academic success; the majority of participants went on to enroll in higher education, often becoming the first in their family to do so.
At Friends of Fondation de France, we channel American generosity towards life-changing projects like Démos. Thanks to the commitment of our donors, we can support initiatives that help reduce the challenges faced by children in disadvantaged communities—and play a part in narrowing social inequalities through the power of transborder generosity.
