School Drop Out

Dropout rates are a major issue in French society today. When a student drops out of school, they jeopardize their social and professional integration in an economy that demands increasing professional skills and qualifications. In 2010, Fondation de France launched the “Help all high school students succeed!” program in partnership with the French Ministry of Education. Its purpose is to prevent and fight dropout rates through  projects that:

  • Create a climate that encourages learning,
  • Limit expulsion from schools,
  • Provide services for students at risk of dropping out
  • Help dropouts return to school or identify an alternative route to education
  • Improve the practices of education professionals
