LOBA was founded in 2008 to create an open forum to explore difficult themes like racism, religion, sexism, migration, and inequality.
Re-Creation by LOBA focuses on gender-related issues and engages in two main undertakings :
- It organizes workshops of dance as therapy led jointly by a dancer and a psychologist. These workshops aim to help the women, often survivors of sexual abuse or other forms of trauma, regain a sense of control and ownership over their bodies and life stories.
- It addresses systemic and pervasive misogyny, the root cause of these women suffering, through public engagement : working with students, engaging through art and a show called “LArmes”, and developping workshops on masculinity and vulnerability.
