Fonds Œuvres de l’Emmanuel

promoting holistic education and international service through the Emmanuel Community’s initiatives

Mission & Vision

Fonds Œuvres de l’Emmanuel is a charitable foundation established by the Emmanuel Community to support initiatives that promote holistic human development, education, and international solidarity. The foundation’s mission is to foster human dignity, spiritual growth, and social responsibility in service of society.

Actions Led

Fonds Œuvres de l’Emmanuel supports two main initiatives:

  • Fidesco: Established in 1981 at the request of African bishops, Fidesco is an international NGO that sends volunteers to serve in development and humanitarian projects worldwide. Volunteers contribute their professional skills to support local communities, focusing on areas such as education, healthcare, and vocational training. Currently, Fidesco operates in 28 countries, with approximately 170 volunteers actively engaged in various missions.

  • Emmanuel Education: This initiative is dedicated to providing a comprehensive education that integrates academic learning with spiritual and personal development. It operates schools in France, Haiti, and Burundi, offering education to children of all backgrounds and fostering a community where faith and learning go hand in hand.

Projects That U.S. Donors Can Support

U.S. donors can make tax-deductible donations to support three types of projects:

  • Solidarity actions implemented by its Fidesco nonprofit, to contribute to the development of poor communities located in Africa, South America and Asia.
  • Educational activities carried out by Emmanuel Education in its 3 schools (1 located in France, 1 in Haiti, and 1 in Burundi) open to all children regardless of their religion.
  • Educational and professional training activities.
