Fondation pour le Rayonnement de l’Opéra National de Paris was created in 2008 under the aegis of the Fondation de France to support the Paris National Opera’s activities and enhance its actions, as the leading French institution for ballet and opera. Their support allows the Opera to continue developing around its three core missions: creation, transmission, and openness.
With over 350 years of history, the Paris Opera is renowned for its qualitative and wide programming, both at the Palais Garnier and the Bastille Opera house, but also for the unique architecture of its two theaters open to the public during the day, as well as its internationally renowned dance school. Its mission is to make opera available to all, to promote the creation and performance of contemporary works, and to contribute to the professional upbringing of singers and dancers.
The foundation supports these educational programs and contributes to safeguarding and enhancing the material and immaterial cultural heritage of the Opera. Whether it is through restoring the architecture, enriching the audiovisual archives, enhancing accessibility for all, or promoting the Opera’s choreographic and lyric heritage, the foundation works to support the Opera’s activities.
The Foundation primarily supports the Paris National Opera by leading fundraising initiatives that sustain and expand its activities. Its contributions notably support:
Aligned with the Paris Opera’s mission, the Foundation also awards scholarships to ballet students aged 16 to 27 enrolled at the Paris Opera Ballet School.
By donating to Fondation pour le Rayonnement de l’Opéra de Paris, you can help fund major projects led by the Paris National Opera, such as the creation of new opera and ballet productions, educational programs, and the preservation and conservation of the Paris National Opera’s heritage.
