Mission & Vision

The vocation of Fondation de l’Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP Foundation) is to facilitate research, medical innovation and to improve the organization of treatment within the 39 public AP-HP hospitals.

Projects that US Donors Can Support

U.S. donors can support the acceleration of innovation on research on all diseases, the improvement of the quality of life for patients and caregivers, and the offering of the best possible care to the general public.

Examples of projects to be supported:

• Launch of the Institute of the Child’s Brain : focused on the neurodevelopment of children and teenagers (key-phase to detect and diagnose early neurodevelopmental issues) that will improve care pathways for children and families. The future building will be the first european place to host
  fundamental and clinical researchers, doctors, startups and families under the same roof.
• Development of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) : a class of drugs characterized by the use of innovative technologies to treat serious diseases. These breakthrough approaches include gene therapy, cell therapy and other methods of genetic manipulation to specifically target
  the molecular causes of disease. ATMPs act on the molecular cause of a disease and offer potential solutions for diseases that were previously considered incurable.
• Development of Research Chairs : developing two existing chairs on Hospital Architecture and Innovation in Operating Rooms, and building a new research chair on Environnemental Health (to find new links between living environnements/habits and diseases to help prevent or cure them)
• Launch of a ‘Transplants nursery’ : to help with transplants shortage, improve the quality and reduce transplant rejections.
• Building a small scale ‘factory’ within the hospital : our ‘Hospital Fablab’ reached its limits due to high demands for customized tools and 3D printings for care and training, there is a need for a larger structure
