Founded in 1857, École Centrale de Lyon (Centrale Lyon) is one of France’s top 10 engineering schools. Its mission is to instill engineers with a solid scientific and technical background, along with a broad world view and the ability to adapt to changing and multicultural environments.
Supported by Fondation Centrale Lyon, their students excel in the sciences, benefitting from applied training and a skills-based approach, including directed study in labs, practical work, experimental projects, and internships. Human and social sciences make up an essential component of the degree programs, helping students develop personally and professionally in addition to their practical instruction.
Centrale Lyon trains over 3,000 students of 50 different nationalities on its campuses in Écully and Saint-Étienne (ENISE, in-house school): assistant engineers, general engineers, specialized engineers, masters and doctoral students.
With the Écoles Centrale Group, it has 3 international locations. The training provided benefits from the research excellence of the 6 CNRS-accredited laboratories on its campuses, the 2 international laboratories, the 6 international research networks and the 10 joint laboratories with companies.
Its excellent research and top-level teaching have enabled it to establish double degree agreements with prestigious universities and cutting-edge partnerships with numerous companies. Focusing on the themes of energy, the environment, and decarbonization, Centrale Lyon aims to respond to the social and economic challenges of the major ecological and societal changes of our time.
With their contributions, US donors can support the following projects:
– A scholarship program (to support equal opportunities, diversity and excellence) and financial support for students facing difficulties.
– Support of the educational framework of Ecole Centrale de Lyon incubators, to offer students favorable conditions for innovation and creativity.
– Development, improvement and renovation of Ecole Centrale de Lyon campuses
