For over 40 years, the Festival International de Piano de la Roque d’Anthéron has celebrated the piano in all its forms, creating a unique musical experience set outdoors on the enchanting grounds of the Château de Florans. The Festival brings together emerging talents and world-renowned performers, exploring a wide range of musical styles—from classical and contemporary to jazz and electronic—while fostering unforgettable encounters between artists and audiences. Its vision is to inspire a love of music across generations and to nurture the next generation of pianists in an atmosphere of artistic excellence and innovation.
The Festival actively nurtures musical talent and promotes cultural inclusion through a variety of programs that engage both artists and audiences, while preserving the natural beauty of the festival’s venue on the grounds of the Château de Florans.
Master Classes for Young Musicians: Since 1982, young artists have attended intensive workshops with professional pianists, offering hands-on training and free public access to witness the creative process.
Access to Culture for All: Initiatives like Ensemble en Provence and Cultures du Cœur help underprivileged communities attend concerts and connect with artists.
Community Engagement: Through performances and educational outreach, the Festival promotes social cohesion, inclusivity, and a shared love of music.
Environmental Stewardship: Dedicated to preserving the unique ecosystem of the Château de Florans, the Festival implements eco-responsible practices, including waste management, sustainable mobility options, and eco-friendly purchasing. Additionally, the park is closed to the public outside of festival dates to protect its fragile environment.
U.S. donors can make tax-deductible donations to help the Festival International de Piano de la Roque d’Anthéron promote, organize, produce, and present an international piano festival each year in La Roque d’Anthéron and other locations.
