Founded in 2005 by renowned Swiss-Argentinian conductor Leonardo García Alarcón, Ensemble Cappella Mediterranea has established itself as one of the world’s leading ensembles in Baroque and classical music.
Initially created to explore the repertoires of the Latin world, the ensemble has since broadened its horizons—from intimate madrigals to grand operas, performed with either small or large forces depending on the context. Its repertoire includes sacred and secular works by composers such as Monteverdi, Strozzi, Falvetti, and Cavalli. Driven by curiosity and originality, Leonardo García Alarcón seeks to convey deep emotion to audiences and embody the transformative power of music.
