Founded over 350 years ago, Académie de France à Rome – Villa Médicis is an artist residence, art center with a diverse programming and a place rich in cultural heritage, being in the Villa Medici, former home to the Cardinal Ferdinando de’ Medici and Roman emperors before that. The French Academy in Rome, situated at Villa Medici since 1803, has three complementary missions: residencies, programming, and heritage, all of which aim to preserve and promote artistic and literary creation.
