Fondation de France is stepping up and appealing for generosity to help those affected
France is experiencing a series of exceptional heatwaves, which are hitting the most vulnerable people particularly hard. Several regions are facing wildfires on an unprecedented scale. In response, Fondation de France is appealing for donations to help the victims and support those working on the front line – and is committing €300,000 with immediate effect to step up its efforts in the affected areas. Every gift adds to this commitment, expanding the reach of support on the ground.
Donations made through Friends of Fondation de France are tax-deductible for U.S. donors.
Working alongside the public authorities, Fondation de France’s response unfolds in three phases:
- Emergency relief – supporting charities currently assisting communities devastated by the wildfires and affected by the heatwaves, as well as frontline workers (notably healthcare workers and firefighters)
- Recovery – supporting the hardest-hit communities (vulnerable groups, small-scale farmers, craftspeople, socio-cultural organizations, etc.)
- Prevention – strengthening efforts to prevent risks linked to climate change
To achieve this, Fondation de France draws on a unique network of over 10,000 partner organizations in France, working across all areas of public interest, and on its solid experience in managing national and local emergencies. Your gift helps rehouse displaced families, equip firefighters, and rebuild community spaces in the weeks ahead.

For over 50 years, Fondation de France has been supporting preventative measures to tackle major challenges: reducing the vulnerability of the populations most exposed to climate risks, particularly the most vulnerable; combating environmental degradation; promoting more appropriate agricultural and consumption practices; and improving housing and living spaces in the face of climate change.
It has been involved in post-emergency relief for over thirty years. It was one of the key organisations responding to the 2004 tsunami in South-East Asia, the earthquakes in Haiti since 2010, the earthquake in Nepal in 2015 and the hurricanes in the Caribbean in 2017. More recently, it has been active in Lebanon in 2020, in Ukraine since 2022, in Turkey and Syria following the earthquakes of February 2023, in Morocco in September 2023 and in Mayotte in December 2024.
It has demonstrated its expertise in meeting the needs of disaster victims and contributing to the reconstruction of community buildings and the revival of economic activity. Fondation de France will monitor the projects it supports for as long as necessary and will report on the work carried out thanks to the generosity of its donors.
