Fondation Mines-Télécom supports education, research and innovation within the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom) schools: IMT Atlantique, IMT Nord Europe, IMT Mines Albi, IMT Mines Alès, Mines Saint-Étienne, Télécom Paris, Télécom SudParis and Institut Mines-Télécom Business School. Fondation Mines-Télécom supports IMT in its missions to advance digital, industrial, energy and educational transformations.
Fondation Mines-Télécom actions are built on excellence, solidarity, diversity, and transparency. It brings together over 280 corporate sponsors and 4,000 individual donors who are committed to supporting substantial projects with a strong technological, industrial and societal impact, based on digital technology, energy and the industry of the future, as well as solidarity actions regarding students.
Specific examples of actions include those taken during the emergency of the pandemic in 2020. In 2020, the foundation funded new forms of aid to help students facing critical situations. Financial aid was provided for students in need of computers and support was given to students with psychological weaknesses. Other examples include a crowdfunded action for a solidarity grocery store on campus and using funds to finance periodic protection dispensers to fight against menstrual insecurity. In 2023, the foundation will propose financial aid to support students living expenses and energy costs.
American gifts received from alumni fund scholarships can be used for “emergency scholarships” to fund vital needs (such as food or lodging rapidly made available to students) or “mobility scholarships” to support internships or studying abroad. Additionally, donations can fund “Scholarships for excellence”, which boosts promising and ambitious projects.
