Fondation Innovation et Transitions

promoting the advancement of knowledge and innovation for scientific, environmental, social, and cultural development in the Lyon area

Mission & Vision

Fondation Innovation et Transitions aims to promote the advancement of knowledge and innovation by carrying out actions of public interest supported by stakeholders in higher education and research. It aims to contribute to balanced and inclusive scientific, environmental, social, and cultural development in the Lyon area.

Actions Led

To advance innovation and support major societal transitions, the Foundation focuses on two key areas:

  • Driving innovative projects that bring together public and private partners, such as the Journées de l’Économie (Jéco), an annual public event in Lyon that brings together economists, business leaders, government officials, and the public to discuss major economic, social, and technological issues

  • Acting as an umbrella foundation to foster partnerships and collaboration between public and private stakeholders.

Projects That U.S. Donors Can Support

Under the aegis of Fondation Innovation and Transition, U.S. donors can make tax-deductible donations in support of two foundations conducting projects of public interest:
1. Welcoming international researchers in Lyon: The Neurodis Foundation has been deploying the CIC ‘Brain and Mental Health’ chair since 2012, a unique device in France that combines work from research teams in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and international researchers.
2. Support the development of a student mental health center: The 102 Foundation provides access to mental health care to vulnerable students and conducts applied research on youth mental health.
